My foundation routine

Short time no see! Hopefully, if you've read my last post.

In this post I'm revealing the way I apply my foundation and all the other stuff that makes my base last so much longer. If you're interested in finding out how I do it, keep reading.

Since I have dry skin type I always make sure to moisturize my skin before I put anything else on my face, otherwise I get dry patches (forehead, nose, cheeks). I use this alverde NATURKOSMETIK oil with a scent of roses which has been working beautifully for me.

To maintain some sort of balance on my skin and smoothing the surface for my foundation I use the Prime and Fine by Catrice Cosmetics. I'm not really blown away with this primer since it doesn't really do anything in terms of makeup staying on longer, so I mainly use it for my foundation to glide on easier.

Next I go in with my essence all about matt compact powder and my BH Cosmetics Powder Brush from their Signature Brush Set. I make sure to apply the powder everywhere.

This may seem a bit off line to some of you, as I do apply my foundation after I powder my face. I found out about this technique just recently from Wayne Goss' youtube video and it has been making wonders for me (stays on longer, glides on smoothly). I ussualy use my fingers to apply the foundation, my current favorite is the BOURJOIS healthy mix serum.

As I have pretty dark circles under my eyes, I tend to reach for this amazing full coverage Camouflage concealer by Catrice. I use it on the centre of my forehead, bridge of my nose, cupid's bow and chin, as well.

If I know I'm going to be sweating a lot through the day, I apply my essence all about matt compact powder one more time with my BH Cosmetics Small Contour Brush and let it "bake" for about 5-10 minutes on the places where I applied concealer. Then I just swipe it off with my powder brush. This makes everything stay on a lot longer and look natural.

That's about it for my foundation routine. Let's chat in the comments, are you going to give this routine a go? Which primer do you use? Do you know a good drugstore primer/foundation which I'd like? Let me know!

Thank you for reading my post.

Have a great day, Maja
